Online Dating Experience
Please give your experiences with online dating sites so that others could benefit from your experiences.
First, I would like to post few criteria that we should look into before we join any dating site.
How to find a good dating site.
1. First, consider how the site looks. If it is poorly designed by using unappealing graphics or jagged fonts and misaligned divisions, this indicates a lack of attention to detail in the construction and layout of the site, and could mean that the rest of the place's management is in a similar state of chaos and disarray. If the webmaster can not finesse the aesthetic aspects of the spot, it's logical to assume that they have done a likely poor job with other significant aspects – similar security. It's feasible that the area could be easily hacked, and your personal information, including your photo and contact information, are not secure. And if you've paid for membership to the place using a credit or debit card, your credit information could be at risk. Choose Internet dating sites that are professionally constructed.
2. Look at some sample profiles on the page before you signup by running a quick seek. Do the profiles look a little bogus? A lot of them are. Many sites (especially new ones that have just started) pad his or her membership database by using photos of models or random (generally good-looking people) to draw new members. Do the profiles have a lot of jibberish characters or nonsensical phrases in the descriptions? That means the dating site you're at doesn't screen the people who signup. This welcomes people with ill-intent. You should get out of there immediately and go to one that does.
3. Try to determine if the site has a privacy link. You can find the privacy link at the bottom of a site’s main page. If they've one, click on it and check to make sure they don't sell members' info to anyone – you do not want to be bombarded with spam e-mails and junk mail. Also look for the dating site's Terms of Service page for the dating site's rules – check to see if they screen their profiles to disallow racist language or overly sexual material. If don’t state this, then it implies anything goes within this dating site, which is a good reason to not signup.
4. Does the site have a links page? If so click and examine. See who they are affiliated with. Usually, there will be graphical banners or icons next to the names of their associations. Are they sex-sites? Spam sites? Even a quick glance in this area could tell you what kind of a dating site you are at.
5. Try to search for the copyright date, usually located at the bottom of the first page. This will give you the age of the site.
6. Be wary of statements like "You are the 4697th member to join today." and "Search through millions of profiles." these statements are usually false. Major sites, which have been running for YEARS usually can support these statements. look for a "whos online" link. If you are the only person (1 guest online means JUST you are there) then you know these claims are false. A site with millions or even thousands of members will always have a bunch of people currently online. If you detect this in a dating site, it is better to leave than to take a chance with a dishonest site.
These ideas all are taken from somewhere on the internet. I can't remember, I wrote them down when I encountered them. My intention of stating them here is to help all of us to be aware of bogus dating site.
Please don't forget to put your comment and experiences about online dating.
Thank you.
